We're building a professional community for performing artists and those who hire them. Because our platform involves binding contracts, financial transactions, and legal agreements, all account holders must be at least 18 years old. Young artists under 18 are welcome to participate with a parent or guardian managing their account.

The first part of this page is the same explanation shown next to Date of Birth when you create an account.

Why Show My Stage requires users to be 18+

As a professional marketplace, our platform involves:

• Legally binding performance contracts
• Payment processing and financial transactions
• Terms of service that require legal capacity to agree

To protect both artists and organizers, and to comply with contract law and payment regulations, all account holders must be at least 18 years old.

For talented artists under 18

We'd love to have you on the platform! Please ask a parent or legal guardian to create and manage the account on your behalf.

If you organize shows with young performers

Performers under 18 take part through a parent or legal guardian's account. If your students or cast include minors:

• Invite the parent or guardian, not the child. Use their email address or phone number. They accept the invitation, appear on your lineup and receive your messages and reminders.
• Name the performer in your own records. Show My Stage doesn't yet hold a separate listing for a minor, so keep the child's name, class and any medical or pickup details in your own roster. Please don't put a child's personal details in event descriptions or messages.
• Every account holder is 18 or older. That includes anyone you invite as a volunteer, a guest or an artist.
