Mythili Dance Academy

Founded in 1988 by Guru Rama Suresh, Mythili Dance Academy (MDA) is a premier Bharatanatyam institution serving communities in Texas and Illinois. Over 34+ years, MDA has trained more than 1,500 students through disciplined practice, expressive dance, and theory rooted in the traditional Thanjavur style taught by Rama’s renowned Gurus. With locations in Frisco, Plano, McKinney, Prosper, Texas, and Peoria, Illinois, MDA provides aspiring dancers opportunities to perform solo recitals and thematic dance ballets and develop into professional artists. Rama’s broader mission is to unite diverse global communities and artists through dance while supporting meaningful charitable causes. She has produced and directed successful Broadway-style productions featuring teams of Indian, ballet, Chinese, and Mediterranean dancers. These performances have supported organizations such as St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Ronald McDonald House, and other community charities. Through its artistic excellence, cultural outreach, and charitable initiatives, MDA has raised and donated an impressive $708,428.
