From RSVP to a full account
When you RSVP to an event with your name and phone, Show My Stage creates a lightweight account for you. You can keep using the product that way — RSVP, get reminders, follow artists — or add a creator profile later if you perform, list a venue, or offer event services.
This page covers the shared path everyone sees. For what each profile type means once you choose one, see:
What you already have after RSVP
RSVPing with a verified phone gives you:
- An account tied to that phone number (no password required to start)
- Your RSVP on the event (Going or Waitlist)
- Access to reminders and in-app updates for that event
- The ability to RSVP to other events with the same number
You do not need an artist, venue, or vendor profile to attend shows. Staying audience-only is a valid, first-class choice.
“How do you want to use Show My Stage?”
After a new phone sign-in (or from Get Started — Add a Profile in the menu), you may see a short chooser:
| Choice | What it does |
|---|---|
| Go to shows | Continues as an audience account — no profile created |
| Perform | Starts an artist profile |
| List a venue | Starts a venue listing |
| Offer services | Starts a vendor listing |
You can skip and browse events. You can also change your mind later and add a profile from the menu or Settings. Adding a profile is additive — it does not convert or remove your RSVPs.
Age requirement (18+) when you create a profile
Phone RSVP does not ask for date of birth up front. When you create a creator profile (artist, venue, or vendor), Show My Stage asks for date of birth and enforces 18+. That matches email registration and keeps creator accounts on a professional marketplace footing (contracts, terms, payments).
Audience-only use (RSVP / go to shows) does not require completing that step until you add a profile.
SMS and reminders
During RSVP you agree to a one-time verification text and event reminders. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP anytime to opt out of SMS. You can also manage SMS Alerts in Settings after you have a verified phone.
Organizer broadcast messages (“Message attendees”) go to your in-app inbox and push — not as SMS. See Public events and Private events.
What does not change when you upgrade
- Your RSVPs stay with your account
- Your phone number stays private from other guests and from attendee CSV exports
- You do not automatically become a “founding artist” by adding a profile later
- Nothing is public until you choose to publish / list the profile (draft by default)
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to pick Perform / Venue / Vendor to keep my RSVP?
No. Choose Go to shows or skip. Your RSVP is already saved.
Can I add more than one kind of profile later?
Yes. The chooser is “what fits today.” You can add another type from Get Started or your dashboard when you’re ready.
I signed up with email first — does this apply to me?
Email accounts already have date of birth from registration. You can still open Get Started to add an artist, venue, or vendor profile the same way.
Where do I manage SMS after RSVP?
Settings → SMS Alerts (requires a verified phone).
