What’s new on Show My Stage
April – August 2026
A roundup of improvements for artists, organizers, and audiences.
Short blurb
What’s new: Host public or private events with guest RSVPs (including invite-only), cast open roles one at a time, share unlisted apply links, pick smarter dates, autofill from a poster, and manage it all on web or in the Show My Stage app — with phone sign-in, SMS alerts, and push notifications. Venue owners also get Activity and email when someone inquires or links their space to an event.
Full changelog
Host better events
- Build events with a clearer lineup flow: invite artists, track responses, reschedule or cancel with a clear record of what changed.
- Choose who can see your event — private or public — and manage casting separately from visibility.
- Add schedules, tags, venue details, and cover images so your event page looks ready to share.
- Chat with everyone on the event in one place.
- Edit events on the go from the mobile app, including photos and key details.
- See a readiness checklist and helpful prompts so you know what’s still missing before show time.
Cast your lineup with open calls
- Open applications per role (for example dancer, MC, or musician) instead of for the whole event.
- Set what you’re looking for, deadlines, and optional pay for each open role.
- Review applicants in an applications inbox and accept, decline, or message them.
- For private events, share an unlisted apply link so the right people can apply without the event showing up in search.
- Matching artists see open roles in feeds, Needs You cards, and notifications when casting opens or changes.

Grow your audience with RSVPs
- Guests can RSVP with a phone number — no password required to start.
- Public events support capacity, party size, waitlists, and SMS reminders (sent at sensible hours).
- Private events can use invite-only RSVPs: share a short invite link or send SMS invites from a guest list (not both at once).
- Organizers get a Guest List tab, RSVP summary, CSV export, and a way to message attendees.
- Add comps and door-list guests manually when you need them.

Keep your event's to-do list on track
- A Tasks tab on events you own, with a completion tracker that separates skipped items from real progress.
- Start a checklist from an event-type template, or import one from a Google Sheet — mapped from Task/Date/Owner columns automatically, or interpreted with AI for unusual layouts (with phone numbers and emails redacted first).
- Tag tasks to yourself, your team, or an artist on the lineup; they get automatic due reminders (3 days, 1 day, on the day, and if overdue) during waking hours, or an on-demand nudge any time.
- Sort by group, due date, start date, or owner; filter to what's overdue, due this week, or yours.

Pick a smarter date
- Use Pick a Good Date to see how busy your area already is on the calendar.
- Optional hints about nearby events help you avoid overcrowded weekends.
Create events faster from a poster
- Upload a poster and we’ll help fill in event details automatically — less typing, faster publish.
Discover what’s happening
- Browse public events and open calls on a redesigned Events page.
- Logged-in artists see a Needs You strip for invites, matches, and actions that need attention.
- Switch between Mine, Discover, and Open calls without losing your place.
- Events can use friendly links that are easier to share.
Sign in your way
- Continue with phone, email, or Google (including on mobile).
- Add or change a verified phone later to unlock SMS alerts.
- Existing accounts can add artist, venue, or vendor profiles in one flow — with the 18+ date-of-birth check when needed.
- Phone-only audience accounts can stay as guests or add a creator profile when you’re ready.

Hear about your venue listing
- When someone requests info about your listed venue, you get an email and an Activity item (bell / notifications / mobile Activity) — reply by email to continue the conversation.
- When an organizer links your space to an event (considering or booked), or that event is cancelled or rescheduled, you’re notified the same way.
- After a successful claim, a confirmation appears in Activity so you can jump straight to your venue page.
- Tap or expand a notification to read the full message, then open the venue page when you’re ready.
